WebXtender ™ (WX) is a Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) based application that allows you to view ApplicationXtender ™ (AX) documents over a corporate intranet or the Internet – giving you worldwide access to business data. With WX, you can search for and display business information in any AX application. WX's thin-client architecture  allows you easy access to ApplicationXtender data files through the familiar interface of a Web browser. By using commercially available browsers such as Microsoft's Internet Explorer™ or Netscape's  Navigator™, WX clients can navigate web pages to display data files. WX offers document display functionality similar to AX without the overhead and cost of client software distribution and configuration, thereby lowering the total cost of ownership associated with a document and data file management system.
